Year 10 On Trial Year 10 Commerce had a wonderful day in the city learning about the Australian judicial system and seeing it in action. Beginning with a visit to the Supreme Court, we sat in on a murder trial - The Lin Family, and watched the cross-examination of a crucial witness. After that we ventured down the NSW Police & Justice Museum where we were given a guided tour of the cells and old Police station. Coincidentally, Hugo had an interesting story about his Great-great-great-great Grandfather who was a police officer who had been shot and killed by an armed gang back in the 1800s - we actually discovered a reference to him in the museum! We finished up by running a mock trial in the original court room that used to operate during the colonial days. Everyone played their roles wonderfully well and impressed the Magistrate with how well they represented their cases.
