Year 2 had a wonderful time at the Russell-Cotes Art Gallery and Museum. The children were portrait detectives and enjoyed finding portraits of Queen Victoria and Sir Henry Irving amongst others, around the collection. They also performed very entertaining statue poses to the rest of the children, who had to guess which emotion they were conveying! Inspired by our Take One Picture painting, the children also went on a dragon hunt and found dragons of many different forms around the gallery. The children enjoyed the quiet sketching time and creating their own portraits. Miss Nixon and the other Year 2 staff say, ‘The children represented our school beautifully and members of the public at the gallery remarked on their excellent behaviour and polite manners. Well done, Year 2!’
