Year 3+: Finally a door has opened for Tyrel to move into a group home. I dont know much about this home, but I do know that for Tyrel...this is something hes been waiting for. It may or may not be the exact setting we would love for him to be in but its a start. This is an opportunity for Tyrel to experience life in a world where he doesnt feel overwhelmed with inadequacy. Our home, our marriage is a constant reminder of what he once had and who he once was. This will be a fresh start for him. For myself and our families, this is bittersweet news. We have all been forever changed by this journey. What we once held on to as the concrete thoughts and beliefs regarding our lives has become something more like quick sand. Did we EVER think we would be faced with the decision to put Tyrel, a man we all love so dearly, in a group home? Absolutely not!! At this moment, I am having to dig deep into my heart and soul to find the courage to believe in myself and this decision. What I (and our family) wanted most was for Tyrel to live at home happily ever after. If only this was a story book! This book is written by God and narrated by Tyrel. They have to include the characters best suited for each part. This chapter will include new characters whom Tyrel needs most. Every day my heart has been whispering to God Please guide Tyrel to peace. Please show me Your tender smile so I know that I am doing right by You for Tyrel. And most of all, we need Your mercy now more than ever. Amen. Stay strong my amazing cowboy!! Hold Gods hand and dont let go. We love you with our whole hearts!
