Year 6 students and their parents from throughout the Dubbo area were warmly welcomed during a transition meeting at Dubbo College recently. The Dubbo College Senior Campus cafeteria was filled to capacity for the presentation, which aimed to provide an insight into the enrolment process and life at high school. Tracey Anderson and her son Hayden from Orana Heights Public School joined other parents and Year 6 students from several other primary schools. “Hayden will go to Delroy Campus next year and he is very excited,” Tracey said. “I already have one son at Delroy in Year 10 and I am really pleased that Hayden will follow in 2015. “He will arrive just as his brother Lachlan moves on to Year 11 at Senior Campus.” The transition meeting was organised by College head teacher Lyndal Powderly, with executive principal Stacey Exner and individual campus principals Kathryn Bermingham, Darryl Thompson and Andrew Jones also on hand to meet with parents and students. Students from Dubbo College Delroy and South Campus were also on hand to talk about their experiences at the College. Year 7 Delroy students Lilli Campbell and Kailee Linnane and Year 7 South students Sarah-May Bruce and Jonas Palin all provided valuable insights into high school life, with the audience very appreciative of their contribution to the night. A special program of transition activities has been planned for both Delroy and South campuses.
