Year 9 CVL fixtures update: High Tunstall 0 - 5 St Hilds In the first game of the new school year Tunny started slowed while St Hilds went off like a train. With the 9 minute halves Tunny unbelievably found themselves 4 - 0 down at half time becoming victim to the long ball over the top more than once. The second half saw Tunny dominate possession with both Tom Harvey and Oliver Stone putting in solid performances. However, the damage had been done in the first half and with Tunny unable to convert while St Hilds grab another at the death to end with a slightly flattering scoreline to the reigning Town Champions. High Tunstall 2 - 0 Owton Manor Tunny started the game much more confident and quickly got their passing game going. They dominated possession throughout the half and a great long range effort from Jack Bond put Tunny 1 - 0 up. Andy Buttery added a second before half time after a god passing move down the right. Tunny showed great composure and Sam Sanger along with Tunny debutant Will Wrigley played excellent in central defence together. Jamie Martin was unfortunate to see his well taken shot hit the crossbar and he was unable to convert the overhead kick rebound! High Tunstall 0 - 2 EMS Tunny were unlucky again in a game that saw EMS score midway through the first half against the run of play. EMS doubled their lead with the last kick of the first half through a dubious penalty. Despite their continue pressure and possession Tunny couldnt quite convert their chances. Credit should be giving to all 3, Year 11 referees who were a credit to themselves and Manor. Overall it was a great chance to see the squad play with a number of players playing in different position. They should all be proud as the future looks bright for the Year 9 lads!!
