Year of Inspiration Day 268: My Maia turned 8 years old today. She called me and we talked about her new hamster, Fluffy! It was the highlight of my month . . . Or year! I love that girl. We may try Skype on Kindle. Jazzed. I need a piece of cake this weekend, you know, to celebrate. Also ordered my first dose of the expensive new medicine today. Thank goodness Im an APRN or Id have to pay my doctor to inject it, too. Im inspired by the thought of a new type of treatment now, because my hip is sore. Its shrinking and rattles around too much - arthritis? Im hopeful. I have options that my Aunt Marie never dreamed of. Grateful. I went to the pub with Maizzy. It was cool (weather) and no live music. Still, I people watched. Live music next Saturday. And, tomorrow, its off to hike with my old Denver hiking club. They are the coolest group of (primarily) African Americans, who let this sunscreen-dependent white gal join their group 15 years ago. I learned a lot about the Front Range from them, and I showed them my grandmas State Park. Itll be fun to spend a few hours with them in my own backyard. No Ted talks yet today, but Im a fixin to, as they say in Texas. No doubt, we will be dive bombed by Solstice, who seems full of piss and vinegar tonight. And, oh, happy birthday to my gorgeous male kitty, Galveston, who is also 8 years old this day, also.
