Yearning for a unique blend of acoustic heart-felt ballads and instrumental fiddle tunes? Tonight at 8 PM, St. Elmos, happily, presents the Scrub Pines. Andrea Bassoff and Nelson Spangler have been making music together since the late 70s. Performing at cafes, coffeehouses, and festivals, this acoustic duo known as The Scrub Pines plays original songs by others. Guy Clark, Steve Earle, Emmylou Harris, Neil Young, Lucinda Williams, Townes Van Zandt, Bob Dylan, Patty Griffin, Randy Newman, Tony Rice, Doc Watson, Danny Gatton, Rodney Crowell, and Buddy and Julie Miller are just a few of their musical heroes. Andreas heartfelt vocals intertwined with Nelsons fine flatpicking on lead guitar, peppered with a bit of harmonica, work to form a unique, homegrown sound. Come out to one of their live shows and hear for yourself.
