Years ago, I bought a cool antique fan. After a few days of hard use, the bearings gave out and the whole thing seized up. Its been sitting on the shelf now for 3-4 years, broken. Today, I bought it out, and stuck my finger through the wide open spaces of its art deco protective cage to spin the blades. It spun freely. I plugged it in. It works fine. A little creeped out, but glad the spilt human blood at the studio is contributing towards some Cristine-esque good. Maybe I can start selling haunted desk fans. Whatever the cause, apparently, its just a good idea to put good quality garbage onto shelves until they eventually, magically, begin working properly again.
