Years ago I thought eating carbs after 3pm was a certainty for fat gain, now I eat majority of my carbs at night for muscle gain and fat loss. Years ago I thought training more than an hour was detrimental to gains, now I dont care how long I train as long as I get the job done, the growth still comes. Years ago I thought cardio was the best form of training for fat loss, now I realise its good at helping you maintain fat. Years ago, I thought a high fat diet, including egg yolks and so on were bad for your health and made you fat, now I realise good fats help you lose fat and make you extremely healthy. Years ago I thought eating every few hours kept your metabolism firing and was key to keeping you lean, now I eat when I can, occasionally skip breakfast and fast one day a week and still get the results I want. Up until today I thought it was imperative to have a post workout shake immediately after a workout to trigger protein synthesis and stop any more muscle breakdown. But as of today after reading more scientifically backed research (Keifer), I wait an hour before having a post workout shake and encourage the increase in cortisol levels during training, as they lead to greater muscular gains, fact... And keeping cortisol levels elevated after training also helps with clearing out triglycerides, removing fatty acids from the blood and eliminating toxins from the system, fact, fact, fact!! You might all think Im crazy, but watch in a years time or so when everyones doing it, you can say you read it here first... well those that want to maximise fat loss and increase muscle gains that is. Youre welcome. JD :)
