Years ago,back in the 90s,Shane(Barksdale)and I used to fish a lot together.Amongst the lures he had in his tackle box were some handcarved wooden lures.I dont remember us using them.I think they were too nice to lose.Shane had been given those lures by a teammate from Oregon he had played pro baseball with.His teammates father ,also from Oregon had handcarved these lures as he often did to sell.Fast forward to the present day.Last Saturday,when our loved ones crashed into that reservoir in Colorado,there was one fisherman on the water in his boat.The plane crashed about 100yards from the fisherman.The fisherman drove his boat to where the plane went underwater and marked it on his GPS to give officials a mark as to where to search.That fisherman had been traveling across the country fishing in different lakes.That fisherman was the teammates father who had carved the fishing lures twenty years ago.Our God has been so good to us during this tragedy and has been so gracious to expressly remind us that his hand is in control of everything.
