Yellow Creek Baptist Church Update We are seeing God do some incredible things at Yellow Creek Baptist Church. Answered prayers all over the place. Answered prayers for salvation, answered prayers for finances, answered prayers for jobs, answered prayers for relationships, GOD IS SO GOOD!!! Since our last newsletter, we have baptized another 10 people bringing our total up to 123 since Sept. 1st, 2013. We’ve got 2 more scheduled for baptism this Sunday and several more that are in process of scheduling their baptism. In addition, this week, we received a $12,000 check for our Building Fund! We rejoice in God’s provision!! If you made a pledge to the Building Fund, let me encourage you to fulfill it. If you haven’t made a pledge or were not around when we did our last pledge drive, please feel free to make a contribution at any time. Simply put it in one of the offering envelopes marked “Building Fund” or mark it on your check and our Treasurer will ensure it goes to the proper place. This Saturday, we will be hosting our first ever Yellow Creek Youth Deer Hunters Classic. We will have free food, games, and lots of doorprizes and giveaways for all the Youth Deer Hunters. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes will be awarded to the biggest buck and biggest doe. This has the potential to be an incredible outreach event that will reach many hunters who may never come to church. Our Free Food Giveaway is Saturday November 15th at 8AM. We need to raise $15,000 in order to pay for the 600 baskets we will be putting together. Baskets are $25 each and include 31 food items plus a Bible, a Gospel Tract, and this year some vitamins for the children and toothbrushes. We promote this giveaway to all the students on free and reduced lunches at Montgomery Central, Cumberland Heights, Norman Smith Elementary, all Houston County Schools, Vanleer, & Charlotte. Last year we gave away 550 baskets. We will be putting the baskets together on Wednesday night, November 12th. On the day after our Food Giveaway, we will be hosting a Bible Conference with Dr. Jeff Laborg. It will run Sunday night November 16th through Wednesday night November 19th. Brother Jeff is one of the most knowledgeable preachers I know and is a great communicator of Biblical Truth. I have been in deep prayer for this conference….not just for souls to be saved, but also for us as a church to dive deeper into the spiritual meat of God’s Word. The next Sunday, November 24th, will be our Church Wide Thanksgiving Dinner. You’ll be contacted in the near future about what to bring that night. We will eat together, fellowship together, worship together, and then I’ll give a brief “State of the Church” address. Go ahead and mark your calendars for our Children’s Christmas Program on Sunday December 14th, and our Christmas Homecoming Jubilee Concert on Wednesday December 17th. I will be preaching and our praise team will be leading worship for revival at Buchanan Baptist Church in Buchanan, TN, Sunday night November 2 through Wednesday night November 5th. We are expecting God to do some great things in those services. We would love for you to come join us if you are able. Next Men’s Breakfast is Saturday morning, November 1st, 7:30AM. LAST BUT NOT LEAST….I want to encourage you with all I have to join us on Saturday nights for prayer. We meet at 8:30 and pray over every chair, every classroom, and every piece of equipment in the building. We pray specifically for lost and unchurched people by name and it has absolutely amazed me at how many people have come to church and gotten saved the very next day after we prayed for them on Saturday night. If you cannot attend but have somebody you would like us to pray for, please get me their name and we will faithfully pray over them. Now that fall break is over, I hope to worship with all of you again this Sunday at Yellow Creek. The Lord is dealing with me about a special message from the book of Joel. Make sure you attend and invite somebody to come with you. May God Bless, Phillip Chambers
