Yep, And for my government trusting, radical transformation, central planning friends out there, this is a small example of why conservatives fight so hard against new regulation. Tom Sowell calls it first stage thinking, Im going to solve this immediate concern, regardless of what the logical implications are for the future. We need to fix this now! What could possibly happen as a result of this policy that would be worse than the issue were solving? Well, the people that wanted to see women given the same educational opportunities came up with title IX. The result, of course, is the devastation of smaller, less lucrative, college sports programs that were traditionally male dominated, (college wrestling is my personal hobby horse), in the name of equity. It was easier for colleges to eliminate less popular, male dominated sports programs than it was to add female sports. Of course, no one asks why its harder to add female sports, and no one wants to mention that, even with the growth in female youth sports programs, girls and women are not, generally, as attracted to competitive sports as boys and men are.
