Yep, getting our hard earned taxes back from this advertising campaign suits me fine: MEDIA RELEASE 12 January 2014 Pyne/Liberals should pay back taxpayers for $8 million higher education ad campaign Australian Greens spokesperson for higher education, Senator Lee Rhiannon, has called on the Abbott Government to scrap its multi-million dollar advertising campaign spruiking cuts to higher education and for the $8 million of public money spent so far to be paid back by Education Minister Christopher Pyne or the Liberal Party. “It was absolutely arrogant of Christopher Pyne and Tony Abbott to launch an $8 million advertising campaign in support of their higher education cuts days after their plan was defeated in Parliament,” Senator Rhiannon said. “These advertisements are not about informing the public, they are Liberal Party propaganda. “This campaign is not only a misuse of public money, it is also misleading as students will pay far more than the government is suggesting based on already released indicative costs of degrees under fee deregulation. “It is far more appropriate that this campaign be funded out of Christopher Pyne’s personal allowance or Liberal Party funds,” Senator Rhiannon said.
