Yep ... our mind seems to me like a tool (or collection of tools), used by most (all?) of us in the service of our often-irrational and illogical-seeming desires, wants, needs; the yearnings that drive us. While our mental tools are often most useful and necessary, they are not nearly as important as the emotion/desire-driven being wielding them. Sharp tools in the hands of psychopaths or other emotionally twisted and power/control-hungry people are not something that, in my reality, we need more of. :p How about more compassion, caring for others and the planet, more tolerance, more acceptance and valuing of each other ... more loving, more giving a damn ... how do we teach that in our state-driven, citizen-indoctrinating, self-serving educational institutions? If not there, where? Or is this something we have to do for ourselves, shutting out the yammering of those trying to use us as tools/allies to help them get what they want and, instead, boldly (or timidly) striking out on our own to places in (or that can be added to) our reality where no one else can take us?
