Yep, pretty much how it happens! I was in the TBI/PTSD program and the day I left active duty it was like I dropped off of the face of the planet! An example of how well the VA takes care of you? Well, my first medical appointment, they asked me to bring in ALL my meds, so I did. They dutifully recorded all of them asked me about all and if I was still taking them. In particular, the Doc seemed interested in my Zocor which I take for semi high cholesterol, ( which is a side affect of eating at the chow hall for years I assume), anyway, he asked if I needed any filled and I said yes the Zocor, no worries well send it in the mail. I thought to myself that this was very efficient and maybe all the stories about the VA I had heard werent true.....until I got a letter in the mail from the VA telling me I have semi high cholesterol and I should take 200MG of fish oil...........and still no script for Zocor after many months of waiting.....SMH......( I did take it upon my self to go to a civilian Doc who prescribed some to me in an hour) Thanks VA!
