Yes, Dion Thompson, Nina Simone had lots of great songs, including this one, which was on the album Nina at Newport (Colpix), one of the first jazz records I ever owned. My mother and father were cleaning out my Grandpa Rahmes house in the summer of 1971 (he had died that spring), and found it in his garage. Because Trouble In Mind was one her favorite songs, she brought it home, and it quickly became one of mine. It was first recorded by Lightnin Hopkins, I believe, but my mother didnt know that version - she had heard her great favorite, Jimmie Lunceford, perform it on the radio w/ his Orchestra. When my parents moved to Illinois in January 1973, she let me keep it, One hot Tulsa summer afternoon in the mid-1970s, I introduced Patsy Raney to Nina by playing this tune & record for her:
