Yes, I am aware that I am sharing this for the second time. But I would love to see my sister go to New York and accomplish her dreams of being a music/movie director. Because of Kellis disabilities, she is unable to do a lot of simple every day things. Getting dressed in the morning, climbing on the toilet to be able to brush her teeth, she is unable to reach the microwave, and unable to take herself to the restroom. I know she will be embarrassed of me writing this, but it is hard dealing with this and being able to cope with doing things different than people in their every day life. I chuckled on the first day of school because the assistant principle saw me walking from my car with a wheelchair, and she stopped me as I was walking to the health room, to thank me for doing this and acting like its something new to my life. Well, I laughed at her, because it not anything new, it is part of my life and nothing has changed from elementary to high school. I thank Kelli for coming into this world, and I accept all of the challenges that she has to face every single day. I thank her for making me more responsible in life and making me grown-up into the young lady that I am today. Yes, it is hard having some one in your family who is handicapped. People see Kelli as the girl in the wheelchair who will run you over if you are in her way, I see her as a normal person. Some one with goals, dreams, some one who wants to grow up like everyone else and be something in life/or do something in life that they love. Kelli has a couple goals and dreams that I am aware of so far.. She wants to go to New York so she can attend The All-American High School Film Festival seminar, and she wants to meet the inspiration behind all of this, Alli Simpson. Kelli has been in contact with Alli Simpson a couple of times. People say celebrities are stuck-up and all they care about is fame and money, but with Alli, its completely different. Alli writes Kelli every now and then and tells her that she cant wait to see Kelli in New York and she will ask Kelli how shes doing. I remember when Kelli met Cody Simpson (Allis older brother) last August, Cody even mentioned to Kelli that Alli told him she was coming to meet her! Alli and Cody have BOTH retweeted Kellis post on how she is raising money for New York, and any donations are acceptable. THEY want her to be there! I really believe that this whole experience for Kelli is really important, not because she is disabled IN SOME THINGS, but because she is putting herself out there by making movies, and editing pictures and posting them on Instagram so people will notice her. And even if we go to New York and her video of Mathew and I being hooligans doesnt make the final cut, IT IS OKAY. It is the experience that counts and all I ask is to please, give Kelli a chance to experience New York and the different college seminar/workshops so she can become a better film maker and go on to bigger and better things.
