Yes, I rang the Salvation Army bell. Many people questioned why I would assist an anti-GLBT organization. I did it because all the money raised in our kettles stays in Ada (about $30,000). I confirmed today that the Ada branch of the Salvation Army is no longer an official corps (and doesnt run a church) and that it doesnt discriminate against anyone for any reason in dispersing its money locally. The kettle money is used to provide food boxes for needy families during the holidays. If theres a turkey on my table, there should be a turkey on everyones table.
