Yes, I still volunteer a bit. Really a bit. The last trip to ATO zone was terribly cold and snowy, there were meetings with dearest friends, happiness from exit of Callsign Marshal and his group from Donetsk Airport, delivery of many tons of cargo, installation of the final element of “smart weapon from volunteers” according to National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and also sadness, depression, weariness, pain. All together, all mixed. The cargo included everything starting from winter tires and up to fleece suits, from razors to food products (statement was crossed out thoroughly, that’s how we were meeting Marshal). Fleece suits – 400 sets, almost full battalion – it’s just great. It was nice to meet our L200 cars. They look really grown-up, all with weapon installed. The soldiers draw carefully call signs on each of them, care about them. It’s nice and impressive – local residents of the small village are gossiping with admiration that the Battalion Phoenix is the coolest battalion in Airborne Forces. However, it’s so cold there… The whole trip was cold… because of wind, of our losses, because of emotions. To be volunteer means training yourself to feel these emotions and hold them inside since boys have to be cheered up, they need our support.
