Yes, I swam and as is often the case for us swimmers, I had - TopicsExpress

Yes, I swam and as is often the case for us swimmers, I had another epiphany part way through the workout: you really dont want to wear high heels to work on the same day you plan to swim evening masters unless you enjoy cramped feet. Of course I couldnt keep this from my fellow swimmers. So, I soon shared this with my lane mate and coach. My lane mate informed me he usually doesnt like to wear high heels to work in general, and my coach shared that he has also decided that its best not to coach in high heels. This was all well and good. I spent some time in the jacuzzi immediately after the workout as is customary for many of us evening swimmers, only this night, maybe even a little longer than typical in an attempt to comfort my cramped feet. In the process, I exchanged in a long conversation with a grad student who is working through some mini-obstacles in his research. A few of us went out for our late night Taco Tuesday dinner (only I ate the mixed fruit and nut salad in an attempt to comfort my cramped feet). Our post-swim conversation took a different turn from my internal thoughts about shoes, but I was sort of grateful it had by this point as we pondered whether its ever possible for a civilization to progress if its based on religious or governing tenets that do not allow for tolerance to coexist. It was very cool being able to hear the perspective of a very bright and informed lady from Shanghai on this topic. So, yeah, the swim was awesome. But, its not just that I got to swim. Its that I got to swim and enjoy fellowship with other swimmers like all of you in our DYST community. Cheers.
