Yes! Starting this Monday, make calls. How do you fight both the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP)? Its easy. You can do it from the comfort of your own home and use an 800 number to make free calls to Washington, D.C. Click on pdamerica.org/tpp then click on your state to get the list of all your states Representatives. Print it off if this will help you. Then call the free Capitol Switchboard number: 1-800-826-3688 and ask to be connected to the office of the first representative for your state. Leave a message strongly opposing Fast-Track Trade Promotion Authority for these two free trade agreements and take a minute to explain why. Before calling, check the PDA list to see if the Representative is a Democrat or Republican, and if they are already against any part of the TPP. Then tailor what you will say based on that information. (If they are already on record opposing the TPP, thank them and urge them to not waiver under what will be very strong pressure.) Go down the list and call every single representative. Do it again the next day, and again, and again. Or move on to Representatives of other states. Get everyone else you know to also do it, over and over. Spread the word to every person and organization you know. We are much more likely to be able to stop this in the House of Representatives than in the Senate, so just concentrate on Representatives. And, if we can just deny Fast Track status for the consideration of these two deals they will be forced to be more public and will, therefore, be defeated. We CAN do this. Weve defeated any number of other attempted free trade deals.
