“Yes, come,” Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the - TopicsExpress

“Yes, come,” Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted. Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?” (Matthew 14:29-31 NLT) Peter was actually walking on the water!!!! But then he started focusing on the things going on around him instead of staying focused on Jesus. Many times we start out with good intentions, but sometimes we lose our focus. When Peter began to focus on his surroundings, the waves, the wind, the fact that he is actually walking on water, his faith faltered causing him to sink. As he was sinking, he cried out to Jesus the only one who could rescue him. Peter was afraid, but he still looked to Christ. When you are apprehensive about the troubles around you and doubt Christ’s presence or ability to help, remember that he is always with you and is the only one who can really help. Today, whatever is going on around you, dont let it keep you from staying focused on Jesus. By faith, He will help you through any and every situation regardless of the outcome. Will you trust Him and stay focused on Him today?
