Yes hello on this terrific Throwback Thursday! I’m - TopicsExpress

Yes hello on this terrific Throwback Thursday! I’m interrupting our regularly scheduled TT (which means tomorrow will be a double up FFF!) to shamelessly promote a rad fundraiser for the shelter that I was rescued from. ACCT Philly, my alma mater, is sponsoring a calendar contest called “America’s Next Top Mutt”. It is open to all animals, but really, it seems to be a dog-eat-dog world over there. No one is paying much attention to the CATS that are entered, which is totally cool because I am running under the Dog People’s radar (and nobody expects a cat to win). The top twelve animals get to be a featured month in the calendar (maybe I could be Ms. October with my batwings). Mom has been doing some small scale sharing among her family and friends. But it is time to let all of MY FRIENDS know in case anybody wants to help! ACCT Philly is a massively underfunded city shelter that does the best it can with what it’s got, which often isn’t much. This calendar contest is a slick way to raise some much needed funds to help other animals that are waiting in the shelter for their hero to come. Good news is that ACCT Philly is a 501c3, so you are making a donation that you might deduct from your taxes!! Mom entered me because like the rules of the contest say, “All pets are welcome to enter, whether they are mutts or mutts at heart”. Have you ever seen a cat that is more a mutt at heart than me? I fetch. I walk on a harness. I sit. I loves me some treats. I eat carrots. I like my belly rubbed. ALL MUTT-LIKE THINGS. Man, it is time for the cats of Philly to get some spotlight…and I think I am the one-eyed, snot-shooting cat to do it. The deal is all win: Philly cats get some attention in a hugely dog-centric town AND bring awareness to the reward of fostering/adopting special needs cats (animals). It helps the shelter. It helps the cats. It brings special needs center stage. And of course, who doesn’t love a one-eyed cat with batwings? ;) The contest runs through September 15. No one has to do a darn thing, but I also didn’t want people to hear about it after it was over and be like “What the H, BG? I had a moldy $1 that I could have tossed in to help!” So if you want to help, the link to my “voting page” is below. Share if you like. It doesn’t matter if I raise $1 or $100. It all goes toward helping the homeless fur kids of Philly, and that is what it’s all about. Well, that and WINNING! I’ll post it again next week before the contest closes. Thanks to anyone who feels like floating a buck or two to make a superhero cat ACCT Philly’s 2014 Mascot!! >^..^< Okey doke…make it a great one…and we have two cats on tap for FFF tomorrow! xoxo BG https://360photocontest/page/viewInd/secure/on/id/43543/contestid/220
