Yes indeed. We need to seriously fix society when it comes to this shocking fact. This story of a transgender teen who took her own life is heartbreaking - especially the mothers response. Its estimated that between 1,500 to 8000 gay or lesbian teens in America commit suicide each year. The reason? Feelings of shame or guilt imposed on them by others. No matter what your religion, or values, the fact that thousands commit suicide each year should be enough for religious minded folks to rethink this horrible aspect of their dogma. I want a world where LGBT people can be themselves and feel proud and appreciated. Each time I post anything in support of LGBT rights I get more unsubscribes and hate comments than anything else I post. The biggest statement made is that its against Islam/Christianity. Religion can be a beautiful thing, but we all get to choose what we want to take literally. And if youre choosing hate or intolerance as your way to honor Jesus or Muhammad, youve really missed the point. And worse, youre supporting a horrible meme that creates so much misery for so many innocent people (30% of gay youth attempt suicide by the age of 15).
