Yes, it has been an unBEARably emBEARassing season this - TopicsExpress

Yes, it has been an unBEARably emBEARassing season this year... Is it all Jay Cutlers fault? No. Absolutely not. Is it time to move on from Jay? It absolutely is. In your 2nd year in a system that has proven itself to be successful (offensively anyway) you must make progress. It is unacceptable to regress to the degree that Jay has, and he simply cant be viewed as the answer. So I agree with the sentiment of ditching Jay. Tucker is as good as gone, and I was shocked he stayed after last season. I cant wait to say goodbye to the worst defensive coordinator in Chicago Bears history. Now, Im torn on the Marc Trestman situation. On one hand, I enjoy his ballsy playcalling. And last year his offensive system was genius. However, this year has been the season of 1 million screen plays... Either the rest of the league caught on to his gameplan and he hasnt been able to adjust, or he has tried to keep things fresh so much, that he has gotten away from what worked. But Im a firm believer in giving a coach three years to really put his mark on the team, so part of me wants to say he should stay one more year. BUT on the other hand, if the front office doesnt think he can beat the Packers... Then they should fire him and search for a coach that can. Because our next coach will need another 2-3 years, so why wait an extra year to hope for relevance? Ive heard a lot said about firing Phil Emery, the GM and I completely disagree with this sentiment. Everyone tries to point at bad drafts and bad trades and bad hiring decisions... But fail to point out the good. Emery is the reason we STOLE Brandon Marshall in a trade. Just robbed MIA. And for every bust pick (Shea) we must give him credit, for being brave enough to draft a Pro Bowl guard in Kyle Long when everyone said it was a bad pick initially. He also traded up in the 2nd to get Alshon Jeffery. And while the jury may be out on Fuller, he seemed to be a great spark in this miserable defense before injuries derailed his season. Emery fixed our O-line last year, and they were stellar last season. This season theyve been decimated by injuries and have still played about average. Not terrible. Yes he missed on some of the defensive acquisitions this last offseason, but is it not asking a lot of a man to fix the NFLs worst defense in 1 season? And he did sign Willie Young to a cheap contract and he has been surprisingly productive. Anyway, I cannot understand any argument for getting rid of Emery. Next season, I want to see a new QB working with Trestman. I want to see a radical change to our defense. And IF we fire Trestman, I would love to see Harbuagh come on over to Chicago. Former Chicago Bear himself, immediately transformed SF into a consistent playoff, and championship caliber team. Cant believe theyre letting him go just because hes mean. I love a mean coach! A la DITKA! Good or bad... Bears fans, #BEARDOWN Some day theyll wake up from hibernation...
