Yes its a fact that The Gambia is not an oil producing nation like Libya and Iraq for multi million oil rich companies in the west to benefit from but shouldnt the UK as former colonial master be doing more about the tragic human rights violation in the tiny impoverished West African nation? Should the west be only concerned about strategic economic and political interest? Why hasnt the conservative led government in the UK uttered a single word about the Dec 30th attacks even against the back drop of Jammehs apology to Britain for initially accusing them of being an accomplice to the failed attacks? Is Britains complete snub of The Gambian situation morally right? Yes we are a sovereign nation but so too is Libya and Iraq. Yes we dont have oil to help solve credit crunch crises of western economies but we are human too. Shame on Britain for dismally failing The Gambia in her hour of need. A little bit of help would have mattered to flush this tyrant out once and for all. Good day Gambia.
