Yes, rushing in will give a person an initial advantage if they startle an oponent, but to rely only on this is disaster. I have a saying in my school, which is The only thing that will defeat an anger berzerker is a calm berzerker. When mind, body and spirit become one, fighting eight oponents is a casual and blissful walk. The first time this happened to me, I was afraid that I liked violence until I realized that it was the shear joy of the movement and harmony that caused the bliss. I have been doing martial arts for over forty years. No one style has all the answers, and I have learned from over 26 different styles, but the five I thought were best were Hsing-i, Bagua, Taiji (or perhaps Combined Form), Chi Ping Tao Kung Fu, and Wing Chun. Next in line would be Pinjat Silat. Unfortunately, I have never had occasion to study White Eyebrow Style. Yet the only thing that ever improved my forward stance after learning in Warrior Pose from yoga was Okinawan Ryukyu Kara te. My family style is fast, brutal and effective, but certainly does not have the refinement of Oriental martial arts. Still, it can turn a person into a reasonably effective fighter in an extremely short period of time.
