Yes, the sun is shining, and I am feeling totally inspired! (Is there a word like untotally? That would probably describe many of my mornings.) A great blessing for Nancy and me is a vacant lot next to us. We love it and birds love it. I was looking out of our kitchen window yesterday morning, and all over that lot were robins. I dont believe that they had come to stay yet, but they were hopping around and their joy was great! I was remembering a day in ND. It was a school day, and I was looking out of a school window. This school was in a very isolated location, on a hill on which were many rocks. A single trail would describe access to the school. It was April 1, the grass was brown, and a single robin was hopping around. That bird brought great joy to my heart as birds continue to do. That visual image has never left my brain. Another day in ND, we had a March blizzard that left huge snow banks. A snow bank covered the door to our straw barn. We were shoveling snow and found a meadow lark totally covered in the snow. It was alive! Again, I am reminded of how God cares for these beautiful creatures. Look at the birds of the air; they do not sew or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Matt. 6:26,27. I needed those robins because I was feeling some anxiety. Did God know that poor me was feeling poor me? I, also, love the words of Isaiah 40:31: But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Wy do I only give part of my cares to the Lord when He asks me to cast all of my care on Him? 1 Peter 5:7 And at my age....
