Yes, there are more cases of Lyme disease in the Northeast; however, Lyme disease exists in Florida. People and their animals are suffering from this disease and many Vets and Doctors do not realize that it exists in Florida. The CDC reports that the incidences reported to them of lyme disease in Florida are extremely low. Well, I guess so. Horses are being euthanized and the owner might never know the cause. This is a personal issue with me because a friend had to suffer thru this decision this past year for two of her horses. Pretty sure CDC does not have those counts in their statistics. KER and Equus magazine have published articles this past year on the increased presence of lyme disease. Is it an increased presence or is it that Vets are finally testing a laminitic horse. If you are in a wooded area or wetlands where there are deer, check yourself, check your animals. These ticks are EXTREMELY small. ker.equinews/article/nutritional-support-lyme-disease firstcoastnews/topstories/article/311500/483/Lyme-Disease-The-Southern-myth-insurance-problems-and-doctor-dilemma Take a look at the Florida lyme disease page. https://facebook/NEFLALyme?sk=wall
