Yes, these are the better ones to come accross when out in the bush, but as he says keep calm, still and leave them alone, and they will leave you. The kids have had three close up encounters with snakes now, luck, I know is a big part but they understand not to go near them, freeze and call for us. I will never forget Abigail freezing and standing still as the 3ft tiger snake slithered away from under her as she was standing one foot either side of it, walking through a garden. If you are out in gardens and the bush with your family educate them with this knowledge, you never know when and where you are going to stumble across these slithery creatures, the last one we found was at Craigs hut last week, late arvo 5ish, cool windy, it was lounging around getting the last bit of sun for the day, we stood by watching it for 20 mins or so, was never a threat to us.
