Yesterday (23/1/15), during an action in Susiya village in the South Hebron Hills, Israeli forces attacked Palestinian and international activists with stun grenades, tear gas, a water cannon and physical and verbal violence. During the action, the Israeli forces arrested four Palestinians. Approximately 150 people tried to reach Palestinian-owned land between the Israeli army base and the illegal settlement of Suseya in order to plant olive trees. The area was then declared a “closed military zone” by the Israeli army, nevertheless the demonstrators tried to reach the land. Within 30 minutes two Palestinian were arrested, however a large group of protesters reached the land and started to plant the olive saplings. Israeli soldiers and police officers pushed the crowd back in the direction of Susiya village. During their charge, Israeli forces used stun grenades and tear gas, pushing and attacking the people and arrested two more Palestinians. Later the participants walked to the hill of Susiya village and slowly left the area as Israeli soldiers and police officers threw tear gas and used a water cannon.
