The 28th annual Centenary Book Bazaar will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m Saturday in the Gold Dome. The Book Bazaar is organized and sponsored by the Muses, a philanthropic group dedicated to funding projects and programs for Centenary students. According to the Muses, this year’s Book Bazaar will be one of the largest with more than 80,000 items available for purchase. The bazaar boasts more than 50 categories of paperback books, hardback books, DVDs, VHS, CDs, cassette tapes and puzzles. This year’s special collection area will display more than 1,000 vintage children’s books. Most items are priced from 25 cents to $5, with higher-priced rare items reserved for bid auction. As in previous years, a section will be devoted entirely to books found on local middle and high school reading lists. Students will find almost all required titles ranging in price from 25 cents to $1.25. Overall, the bazaar has raised more than $1 million to aid the college. During the 2013-2014 academic year, book bazaar funds donated by the Muses helped the college purchase ballet barres for use in the Dancing with Parkinson’s program, new equipment for the fitness center and a new golf cart for Centenary’s Department of Public Safety. Patrons should bring bags or boxes to carry out their books. Carryout assistance is available. Cash or check is accepted. On Saturday, all items are half price after 12:30 p.m. For more information, contact the Book House at 219-3409.
