Yesterday, Congressman John Carneys staff joined my District Director and Outreach Director at the US-Mexico border, a trip Rep. Carney and I were supposed to make. However, because of the dysfunction in Washington and failure of House leaders to present a real solution the humanitarian and security crisis on the border, I was in Washington to vote on potential legislation. The issues facing the people I represent who live and work on the border can only be understood by hearing from them and learning firsthand about their concerns regarding border security-That’s why I invited Congressman Carney to visit Southern Arizona.
