Yesterday, DA Devon Anderson announced NEW pilot program for Class B marijuana possession arrests. Goes into effect October 6. Individuals who are detained by HPD or the Harris County Sheriffs Office will be taken to a substation to confirm their identity and to be fingerprinted. They will also be offered the First Chance Intervention Program if they are non-violent first-time offenders who possess up to 2-ounces of marijuana.
