Yesterday Derek Hansen and I got a .18 DWI dismissed at trial. - TopicsExpress

Yesterday Derek Hansen and I got a .18 DWI dismissed at trial. Last week we had a .27 DWI thrown out for lack of temporal connection. The reason Im pointing this out isnt to advocate for drunk driving, we recognize the harm it places on society and the needless loss of life it can cause. Im happy to report that both clients got sober, each for over a year now. Thats the most important thing that can come out of cases like these. But the reason I point the results out is to let people know that we can indeed help, both in the courtroom and beyond it. So many people figure threes nothing that can be done if theyre over the .08 limit. While no lawyer can get every case lowered or thrown out, we can help, and we can guard the constitution while we do it. Sometimes are greatest victories are not in the courtroom, but beyond it. If we can put people in a better place than where they were when they came to us, then weve served our clients and society. I know some people will attack and hate anyone that defends a DWI case. Im not here to change their minds, nothing I can say will change the way they feel and they are entitled to their opinion. But know that help is available. Were here to help with dignity.
