Yesterday Evening 19/01/15 the dog pound received a call regarding a injured Greyhound in County Cavan.Cavan Spca was contacted and contact was made with the finders & one of our volunteers. He had wandered in to a garden and hadnt left after a few hrs.The finders were deeply concerned about his welfare & due to the extremely cold night.Billy a lurcher/greyhound cross arrived at my home last night (Laura) and what a sad, broken boy faced me.Those sad eyes said it all.All Billy wanted was a bit of food, love and a nice warm bed, he felt very safe in the dog crate and really loved his jacket & appreciated it!! The rascal must of known it was snowing outside as at 3.30am Billy decided he wanted to be out in it,although he did need to do a wee. After his 15 min adventure he was back tucked up in bed and soundly slept till 8.30am.Billy is such a gentle boy,we have no doubt in a few days Billy will be feeling a lot better in himself. He has mange,a few injuries to his body and he has being eating the tip of his tail ,other than that we do not know his history/past. Triona has taken over the care of Billy from Today and will take it day by day, thanks Triona and to Tina who is always there to help us, encourage us and advice us & who also made it possible that Billy would be cared for by Cavan Spca,Remember we have 80 + dogs in our care. We come across many neglected dogs, but we do not post cruelty & neglect pictures very often but It is important for us to let you know that here is where all your donations go to ( to the animals who need our help ) and how greatly appreciated it is.Thank You.
