Yesterday, Georgia Southern University officially opened the new Biological Sciences Building! The new facility, with 158,155 gross square feet, showcases scientific research and learning as it happens and provides students with exceptional research opportunities at all levels. This $41.4 million state-funded building houses 5 classrooms that encourage active-learning, 10 teaching labs, 15 research labs to facilitate undergraduate and graduate student research, specialized research facilities, and faculty offices. The new academic building will be submitted for a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) “Gold” rating.
