Yesterday, I addressed the Fulton County Commission concerning the proposed millage rates. First, I spoke to the “Hospital Fund” which was being referred to as a “millage rate,” a “fund” and a “fee.” I said that, no matter what it is called, the bottom line is this: it is a tax—a tax increase. Second, I publically thanked Commissioner Liz Hausmann and Commissioner Robb Pitts for voting, “no” against the increase and again encouraged the entire board to also vote “no.” The vote was cast: 6-1.
