Yesterday I attended the Armistice Day Remembrance Service in Cambridge along with Hon Craig Foss, Minister for Veterans Affairs. This year is also the 150th Anniversary of the establishment of the New Zealand Cadet Corps so it was great to see members of the Corps taking a role in the commemoration events. Armistice Day in Cambridge has become an iconic event with over 40,000 people attending over the weekend. These events reciprocate the gesture made by Le Quesnoy, Cambridge’s Sister City in northern France, which has commemorated ANZAC Day for many years.
