Yesterday I bought some groceries and at check-out was handed one of those stickers to be applied toward whatever household item they were currently featuring. I said I didnt want it and the checker said We have to give it to you. This seems to indicate that I have to take it in order to complete the mandatory giving. She did say I could do with it whatever I wished. What I wished was to hold up the line while inquiring of those waiting if they collected them. I get so sick and tired of being told what I have to do; Im the customer, client or patient, dammit, and the only thing I have to do is continue breathing or die. I try to be unobtrusive and almost invisible, maybe being a little over-the-top would be a better strategy to just be left alone to do what I need to do.
