Yesterday I came to know that Manchester United is actually publicly traded in New York Stock Exchange since the mid-2012. So I decided to find out how the market responded to some of the recent events. When David Moyes was sacked, market capitalization of ManU increased by $100 million. The news of Louis van Gaal’s appointment increased market capitalization even further by $400 million. So basically just those two events in aggregate added half a billion to ManU’s value!
