Yesterday I completed another Bucket List item by attending a Cubs game at Wrigley. And true to their reputation the Cubs managed to take the Yankees into 13 innings of complete boredom with neither team able to hit a ball. My favorite thing was the 8th inning when Derek Jeter came to bat for the last time and everyone gave this Hall of Famer prospect a standing ovation for 2 minutes. Then he made his next last time at bat in the 10th, and another last time at bat in the 12th. And his 4th last time at bat in Chicago in the 13th. By that time (4 1/2 hours into the game) all six of us left in the stadium roared our approval. He went 1 for 7. BORING! Yankees and Cub, 13 innings, not a single home run. WORSE, they closed the beer stands at the 8th inning.
