Yesterday I cooked the boneless, skinned turkey breast. It was tasty but a little tough. I think putting it in the brine with some herbs was a good idea, otherwise it would have been too tough. I served it with two kinds of steamed cabbage with thinly sliced onion. We had pureed raw apples that were peeled and cored. Mighty tasty. You know if you get a chocolate craving you can satisfy it by warming up pureed apples or applesauce and adding a few chocolate chips or grated chocolate. It tastes great. I felted the little heart from holofill and started a star shaped one. I washed all the sheep wool that I have acquired for some time. The first wash you add soap to the hotest water and let it sit for 45 minutes, then you drain and add fresh hot water to rinse, and let it sit another 30 minutes and finally a third time, hot water-30 minutes. You would not have believed how disgusting looking the first water was. I did this whole system twice. The water was clear on the final rinse. I squished out most of the water and put it all in a towel and spread it out on the porch to dry. I hope So Precious, our cat, doesnt think its a nice soft place for her to rest. My hands felt so soft after washing all the wool. I should have stuck my face in there. Lanolin. It was the lanolin from the sheep wool. I keep thinking of things I can make with the wool. I have a piece that I think I will use to make a bearskin rug for my dollhouse. I have one already but I would like one made from our very own sheep wool. I would like to make some bears like the little crochet teddy bears I have made for ornaments. I can just see me next year when the sheep start shedding. I will have to stick them in the sorting shoot, because they are not docile and wont stay still for me otherwise.
