Yesterday I got a message from a well-established producer and label owner who informed me about a FB Page,Blog page and website that had more tracks on the mp3 market then traxsource but the difference was it was all free downloads, from your very big labels to your even up n coming labels (inc AR tracks also) .First thing I noticed is on the page I had 450 friends that followed this page which was the biggest shame,I found posted only a few hours ago 2 AR Tracks on a free download then to see it had a blog link and a website full of every ones tracks ,from Soul Candi ,Kawala Jemzee,DNH and plenty more fresh of the block,Now dont get me wrong as the biggest track of this year Rabs Vhafuwi & Mizz - Count Your Blessings in SA started as a free download and look where that has gone ,But we all say that South Africa is currently the biggest house scene but really how many support labels outside of SA fully ,Now I know artist in SA are not really too stressed at this because they get booked for gigs with these freebie supporters paying and attending which makes more money then the MP3/Wav Market but for many of us who are outside of Africa who push the music with passion and want to grow what are we ment to do when we tell artist we only have around $50 a year of sales that go in there pocket and they look at us and say where is the money thinking we have made a goldmine or something which then sadly will brake relationships down naturally unless they are aware of this ,plus how are we gonna grow the music here if we keep going in the red to push with nothing coming back to help us put in more ??? Now I understand many south Africans dont have money ,dont have credit cards valid to buy online and see a free download and eyes light up but how is this music gonna grow fully global .ohhh you feel because people like myself and many others pushing artist and music means that this scene is global when only Black Coffee,Culoe,Black Motion are the ones across the globe while many others are lucky to go to Botswana or as far as Angola ??? This music could really be a big thing but sadly is running out of steam outside of SA ,Look at Uhuru they now working with west African afro beat producers to help grow themselves ,Top artist are now producing more Afro Tech sounds to cater for EU deep house lovers (which is working) Ive heard new artist from SA this year come to UK and was all a big flop because of lack of unity here with event runners and not promoting the nights well or should say not tactically getting the right djs to support the nights for everyone to enjoy . Looks like again we have a very great black movement and sound but sadly is self destroying itself slowly because of lack of finical support from the people for all you up n coming artist who want to come to EU and other parts and perform I dont think its really gonna happen at this rate and we are happy with what we got from SA such as above artist .Wanna know the reason why ?? Because you own people and supporters dont buy music outside of Africa and have no value here :( Sad but true On a good note ill keep pushing to what I have and my passion can give but maybe the St.Denis finale 2014 might be the Finale mix for free download Buy Music and support the sound you love if not that sound may not be around much longer .
