Yesterday I had a softball game it was my 3rd. We were short a few girls but they still let us play. We went against another selective team. I was put in the center of the out field usually I cover 1st and play right outfield but do to the shortage of girls thats were they put me. I believe we batted first since we were visitors. Wmy turn came I was nervous as usual so I didnt swing in the practice circle its what I like to call it. So when it was my time I stood up to the plate and heard my coach say line with the plate but on this round of batting I didnt swing till the last throw, even though I didnt hit it. I walked away ashamed and embarrassed 1- the snickering and 2- because I was the last strike out of that round/ inning. So as I was putting my bat up the coach was saying that was a great swing but I wasnt so sure. So the next inning arrived and I caught/ threw some balls in when they ran/ flew to me. Soon the inning was over and we were batting again and I did get another chance this time I focused on what my parents were telling me and tried not to think about so much. We I got to my stance I watched the balls and swung every time, till I got a walk. I slid my bat to the next batter who put my bat on the rack. This might sound silly but I didnt know when to run, so I kept looking for assistance from the coach behind me. But as soon as one of those balls flew I was off to second wether they caught it or not. Some time went by and the female coach said something I didnt understand so I just watched the pitcher and when I saw the catcher drop the ball I ran. I soon faced a small problem. A girls was right in the middle of the lane so I thought running around her on the grass but I ended up going straight and she tucked her hand in her glove and shoved me. I did stumble but I kept my eye on the prize. I saw the third baseman catch the ball right when I stood on third so right when I stepped of I took off my helmet and walked to our dugout to my surprise they were swinging there arms in a signal to go back so when I turned around I saw the umpire yell safe. And i returned to third base and when the opportunity came I ran home. When I returned to the dugout I looked at the board to see if I scored I saw no points added I just rolled it off a bit upset. I thought maybe they didnt count it because time was up, well the rest of the game flew by and soon it was over. After the game was over all the girls stopped and we shared our snacks and chatted. It felt awesome to at least get on bases. I had a blast even though we lost. I learned something new today that dont think just do Everyone have a blessed day. -T
