Yesterday, I had a very inspiring, insightful and emotional phone conversation with Sally Davis Engle. It had to be the first time that we have spoken in 40 years but good friendships really never go away, they just go on a break for a while. You see Sally and I are both going through this indescribable fog after losing that person you love and that had become a part of your everyday life and being. We understood each other emotions immediately and were connected as two human beings sharing a mutual sadness and yet a respect for each other, as only we could share without any thought of judgment. Our pain although inflicted under different circumstances and thousands of miles apart was the same. Sally helped me immensely to better understand that Im not alone and my feelings are real and based on something deep in ones soul that makes us human. I dont know how else to state it and I hope Sally that our conversation helped you too. We will continue to talk to each other and support one another on this difficult journey that we both share. Sally, I want to post this song for you today and for everyone who has lost someone they love. Donna Summer wrote this amazing ballad after she had lost both of her parents and one of her sisters. It was one track out of an album of religious based uplifting music called The Mercy Project, released in 2000 to help raise funds for troubled youth. Donna was a very spiritual person and a devout Christian. After her passing, her husband Bruce Sudano was asked what was his favorite song and he responded Take Heart. He considered it her best and said that with this song she wrote, he knew that he would see her again one day. God Bless you Sally. Well make it through this, as we are survivors from Urbana, Ohio.
