Yesterday I had a young lady in here volunteering she was a hard worker who not only used her muscles and brains she used her heart and that is a rare find. Through the course of the day she saw animals brought to us and how we at LCARL interact with the people and the animals. She saw some of the things we do to get the message of our animals out to the public to try and find them homes. Somehow the conversation came up about what all we have to do at LCARL, this got me to thinking long and hard about a day at LCARL. I have worked in different fields and have had to wear more than one hat so to speak. Most places that you work or volunteer at the job descriptions are not cut and dry, but this position is one of the most unique. I explained to her that we act as advocate for our animals, care giver, doctor, nurse, maid, chef, public relations rep, therapist, and friend. With the people we come in contact with we have to fill the roll of salesman, adoption coordinator, animal rights advocate, teacher, doctor, therapist, and tip line operator. I know there are more duties that we juggle this is just off the top of my head. The look this girl gave me was priceless. The reason I bring all this up is to explain that at LCARL we do not care how many job titles we have to fill so to speak, We do not care how much work it takes, we are here for one reason and one reason only and that is for the animals. They are our first responsibility.
