Yesterday I had something happen that has been seared into my brain forever. I was on my way home from Costco, turned left onto Wellington Road, in London, to go over the 401 overpass to take the 401 home. As I approached the overpass, I noticed a small car sitting just on the side of the road with no one in it. Then I noticed a woman sitting on top of the over pass looking at traffic. I thought to myself what a stupid thing to do, as that is dangerous. Then she looked over at my vehicle, smiled and jumped. I thought she was young, others thought she was around 40. I stopped, in shock, put my 4 ways on and ran to where she had been. Terrified to look over the side to see what I would see, I saw her on the pavement, she had not been hit by a vehicle, but obviously she was gravely hurt. We have had a suicide in our family and I know how devastating this can be. So all I could think was OMG how is her family going to cope now. Someone performed CPR on her, and the rest of us could only stand in shock on top of that overpass, thinking WHY? So now she MAY be in peace, I dont know if she survived. But how do the rest of us put this away?
