Yesterday, I had the amazing experience of spray painting benches - TopicsExpress

Yesterday, I had the amazing experience of spray painting benches and chairs for my classroom. With one little push of the nozzle, I could cover scratches, scrapes, dullness, and dings. Everything became glossy again- even after the wear and tear of previous days. Of course, I wish I could do the same for Rich. Cover him with royal blue, canary yellow, or spring green? No! Those are not the best colors on Rich. However, I would love to press a button and coat him with restorative health all at once instead of going drip by drip and day by day. There are still a few rough spots yet to cover. For example, energy level is frustratingly low, blood sugar level is frustratingly high...hunger pains are consistently strong, appetite is consistently weak..My cooking time increases by 100%, but my cooking skill increases by 0%. And of course, Rich has the will to go to school right away, but only the strength to go on a short trip to the produce section of the grocery store. We have a planned appointment to the UIHC next week in which they will check the status of the gall bladder, the pancreas, and all of the other trouble makers. The ERCP is still scheduled for September third, and there are many options for that procedure in terms of what they will want or be able to do. Recovery from acute pancreatitis, septic shock, gall bladder surgery, and near failure to a bunch of important systems? Its not quite as easy as that whole spray paint scene. The smell isnt nearly as intoxicating and the product is not ready to pick up and go after an hour even if you followed all of the directions on the can. However, this process is slow for a reason. It drags you away from old patterns and pitfalls and nudges you closer to family and friends .It discourages counting the minutes and encourages counting your blessings. It whispers, Stop, at any moment and then shouts if you ignore it. Maybe that glossy finish is overrated anyway. Im pretty in love with this scruffy, albeit grouchy, guy relaxing on our beat up couch.
