Yesterday I had the amazing privilege of observing this amazing loving couple I love DEEPLY work through something. I learned so much in this observation. When our hearts on the line we all get beckoned by fear and even the most aware can resort to self protection. What I observed is that we have to choose in each moment (especially the difficult ones) to detach from pride and attach to vulnerability, to recognize the other person is fighting their own demon and story. Creating a safe place is truly listening to yourself and identifying story telling from fact and truly listening to your companion and not reacting from fear but love. Hard work but so worth it!
